TGIF and all that jazz

I am so glad it’s Friday. Been a long week. Good & bad.

Haven’t had a recent update on Gram, going to poke Rob to call his mom, but it’s hard because I think she’s low on minutes. Will have to see if we can put some cash on that tomorrow.

Despite the yucky weather outside, I am feeling pretty chipper. Played with the WiiFit. I am loving the yoga and hating the strength training but that is because my upper body strength has gone to crap. This morning 25 mins in total, 15 min yoga and 10 min strength. Goal for the weekend is to do 30 mins a day and Monday to set alarm clock to 6:15 so that I can get 30- 40 mins in. I also want to get some cardio in, not sure if I should do a workout 3 days a week when I get home (longer workout) or try to fit it into morning (shorter workout). I think for the sake of my right knee, back and shoulder, the yoga and strength training needs to be priority. But I want to fit the cardio in too to move the weight loss and heart/lung health.

Fitness Goals:

Yoga – Daily – 15 min to 60 max I want to be able to touch my toes easily and balance on one leg (Tree pose) without wobbling.

Strength Training – 3 times a week 15 to 30 min I want to be able to do real push ups & the plank, without modifications by the first day of winter.

Cardio – 2 to 3 times a week Still working on this goal, but essential I want to be able to walk 5 – 10 miles at a steady pace without keeling over or stressing my knee and Achilles tendon.

***

I have to say I have been really enjoying playing with the WiiFit, it’s been interesting to see how much I have been favoring my left leg and how wonky my balance has gotten.

***

I had some of the best sleep I’ve had in a long time last night. Maybe it was the working out, maybe I’ve figured out my med. dosage. But I didn’t wake up once and I feel pretty good today.

***

I will also confess, that I ate 900 calories over my goal yesterday. But you know what? That pastrami on rye and french fries were worth it. LOL
