The First Day of School

OMG! what a logistical mess. I have no idea when should I drop him off. Before the buses, after the buses. Hike from a couple blocks over.

They are remodeling his school building so they are temporarily housed in a modular complex in the middle of my former elementary school’s athletic field. There is barely enough parking for the teachers, let alone several dozen cars of parents dropping off kids. It’s a mess. And of course, he is dismissed from the back of the building. Ugh. Hopefully things will be less insane and I can figure out when to drop him off. I think closer to 7:45 the better.

So he was a little teary when I left, but holding up. I am looking forward to what he has to say about his new school. Which will probably be next to nothing, because his normal response to what did you do in school today is, “I don’t remember.”
